Results...

Dan has not only sourced us a workshop that can fit three cars, all to ourselves, with lighting, power and a key tag entry system...

But also a secondhand pan, professionally welded new pans either side, all genuine, since the work there has been no miles driven on it. Will need prep but...for £100 ...EPIC.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN.....

The plan....ish...

We need a new pan and various other parts, we need a space, we need time, we need plenty of time.

Whole new pans retail at £1200ish, and we are in total for parts looking at £2000....

Witha honeymoon to pay for, and a wedding and rental of a workshop with power, lighting, security and all in 35 days....

The, not so convincing, plan. . .

After a Pub meeting between myself, Dan Gravenor the over keen optimist, and Phil, We have decided to replace teh whole plan to a new, bare pan.

VW Heritage have new floorpans, which are good quality, for around £1200 and hold them in stock...

I will need to find a place to change a pan.... Time to do it whilst we both work full-time, have relationships and are seperated by 26 miles of sparce countryside.....

This could be fun......

Intro...

Phil, a budding VDubber has owned a 1972 1300 Beetle for a year. His wedding is at the beginning of August 2011. At the beginning of June, 2011, Phil takes his Beetle for it's MOT after paying £600 for welding.

When Phil looks for a pass, instead he finds 2 pages of failures - Mostly floorpan rot!

The 'Welding' turned out to be filler and underseal, a brake hose was split and there were a few electrical anomilies for good measure.

His car is his wedding car, has sentimental family value and is his pride and joy...

Oh dear....
